Almost all commercial and residential properties in New York City over 50,000 gsf (or 2 or more buildings on the same tax lot that exceed 100,000 gsf) will need to comply with New York City’s Local Law 84. All buildings need to comply with Local Law 84 no later than May 1, 2011 and annually thereafter no later than May 1st of each subsequent year.
Local Law 84 benchmarks energy and water usage in these buildings. Energy includes electricity, natural gas, fuel oil and steam.
